Netherland Dwarf bunnies for sale, and why the list is short
The breed carries a dwarfing gene. A kit inheriting two copies does not survive, which is ordinary breed genetics rather than anything alarming, but it means Netherland Dwarf litters are small. That is the honest reason a search for Netherland Dwarfs for sale turns up so few actual breeders and so many directories.
It also means we cannot promise you a colour or a sex on demand. What is on this page is what exists.
What a Netherland Dwarf is actually like
Lively, curious and genuinely interactive. They investigate everything, they binky readily, and a settled dwarf will follow you around a room. They are also the least keen of our four breeds on being picked up, which is a size response rather than a character flaw: a two pound prey animal has good reason to object to being lifted by something twenty times its size.
Are Netherland Dwarfs friendly? Yes, on their terms. Handled every day from a few days old, as these have been, they become confident and sociable. The spelling, since it trips everyone up
It is Netherland Dwarf, not Netherlands Dwarf, though plenty of people search for Netherlands Dwarf rabbits and mean exactly this breed. Both will find you this page.
Before you take one home
They are indoor rabbits, without qualification. A small body loses and gains heat far faster than a large one, so a draught matters more and anything above 80°F needs managing. The flat face also means less room for teeth that never stop growing, so unlimited hay is not optional. Care, size and personality in full, and how long they live, which is ten to twelve years and longer than most people expect.
Getting your rabbit home
Collection in Bakersfield is free and needs no deposit. Everywhere else, the rabbit is driven to you in a climate-controlled vehicle, the whole way, never flown and never shipped as cargo. A deposit applies only if you want one held for a later date.
