Delivered to Kansas
Mini Lops, 4.5 to 6.5 lb full grown, noticeably heavier than a Holland Lop, raised indoors in Bakersfield, California and delivered to Kansas by USDA certified ground pet transport. $200 for bucks and does alike.
There is no good reason a family in Kansas should settle for whatever happens to be nearby. We are Arlen Rabbitry, raising Mini Lop Rabbits indoors in Bakersfield, California, and sending them across the country by USDA certified ground pet transport. Climate controlled, by road, never flown. Or come and fetch yours yourself, which a fair few people do. $200 for bucks and does alike.
Who actually does the driving? A USDA certified pet transport service. They carry live animals for a living, in a climate-controlled vehicle, and they stop regularly for water and a check.
Is my bunny ever flown? No. Road the whole way, every time. Nothing of ours goes in a cargo hold.
What does it cost? Quoted for your address rather than off a chart, and you are told before you commit.
How is the date set? Around the weather on the route. We would rather move a run than send a rabbit into heat or snow.
Can I just come and get it? Yes, and you are very welcome to.
From two days. The Kansas run is 1,300 to 1,600 miles and takes 2 to 3 days, counting the water stops and the overnight breaks that any decent transporter builds in. Spring storms across the plains are the usual reason a date moves. Summer heat through the southern plains means an overnight leg.
And if the drive appeals more than the wait, Bakersfield is about 22 to 28 hours from Kansas, which most people split as two to three days each way with overnight stops. Come and collect, meet the litter, take your time choosing. It costs nothing but the fuel.
Kansas is 1,300 to 1,600 miles from us, 2 to 3 days on the road. The run is handled by a USDA certified pet transport service, in a climate-controlled vehicle with regular stops for water and a check. Your bunny goes by road the whole way: never flown, and never shipped as cargo.
What this breed's size means for the journey. At 4.5 to 6.5 lb a Mini Lop needs a larger carrier than a Holland and more airflow around it. Not a difficulty, just a bigger box and one more stop on a long run.
Spring storms across the plains are the usual reason a date moves. Summer heat through the southern plains means an overnight leg.
The denser body holds heat longer than a Holland Lop does, so a Mini Lop is the one we are most careful with on a summer run. Overnight travel from May onward, without exception.
Raised indoors and handled daily. If one of these has gone by the time you write, ask and we will tell you honestly what is coming rather than take a deposit against a maybe.

A solid, heavy rabbit suits plains weather better than a light one: it is less bothered by wind chill and it holds condition through a cold snap. The caution is the reverse of the Holland's. Where a small rabbit chills, a Mini Lop overheats, so a summer power cut in Kansas is the scenario to have a plan for.
Size. 4.5 to 6.5 lb full grown, noticeably heavier than a Holland Lop. Care. The heavier body means nails wear less and need cutting more often, roughly monthly. Watch the weight: a Mini Lop will happily eat past what it needs, and an overweight rabbit cannot groom its own back end properly, which causes real problems.
What it gets mistaken for. Frequently sold as a Holland Lop by people who do not know the difference, and the two are not interchangeable: a Mini Lop is roughly twice the weight. Ask for the adult weight of both parents. Everything about the Mini Lop.
Same journey, same price, different rabbit. Worth comparing before the distance matters.
Worth settling before the distance and the delivery. The steadiest of the four in our experience, and the one we suggest to somebody who wants a rabbit that will sit still and be handled. The extra weight makes them feel solid rather than delicate.
If that does not describe your household, say so and we will tell you which of the four would suit better. Sometimes the answer is none of them, and that is a better outcome than a rabbit in the wrong home in Kansas.
Tell us whereabouts in Kansas you are and whether you want a buck or a doe, and we will give you the price, the transit time and an honest view of when it could travel.
