What the California weather means for the journey

Our home state, so most California families collect in person. For the longer runs to the Bay Area or San Diego we travel early to avoid the worst of the Central Valley heat.

Rabbits handle cold far better than heat. Above roughly 85°F we travel overnight, and we will move a delivery by a day rather than take a rabbit through a heat advisory or a snowstorm. Nobody has ever complained about that once it is explained.
